Mantry codzienności

Mantry codzienności - Mantras of Everyday Life - Bydgoskie Centrum Sztuki - Bydgoszcz - Polska - Poland

Opis

To właśnie rytm codziennych czynności nadaje kształt naszemu życiu, porządkując chaos i wprowadzając iluzję stabilności. Kuratorka: Ala Majewska. [EN] Ala Majewska: The structure of everyday life rests on repetition—a kind of mantra of actions that both constrain and liberate. It is the rhythm of daily activities that shapes our lives, organizing chaos and instilling an illusion of stability. Yet, the ceaseless repetition of these same patterns also prompts reflection: is repetition merely a mechanism for domesticating reality, or does it harbor a deeper meaning? Are our daily actions just routine, or do they constitute an attempt to imbue life with value and significance? Philosophical reflection on repetition - from Heidegger to Nietzsche - reveals its duality: it is a realm of both mechanical habit and conscious choice. Thus, repetition is not merely passive reproduction but a dynamic process in which the individual and culture are constantly being transformed. It is within the tension between routine and the creative act that the potential to redefine the meaning of our existence lies. For this exhibition, I invited artists whose work engages with the phenomenon of repetition - understood both as an element of everyday experience and through the lens of a philosophical approach to the world. Repetition, steeped in the ordinary, creates a shared field of reference that we often transform into a mantra - a step away from art itself. In the work of Joanna, Katarzyna, Piotr, and Sebastian, I discerned a distinctive rhythm revealed in their metaphorical depictions, where the everyday is transmuted into a form possessing new artistic power.
